VINTON, Iowa (April 26) – Sixteen entries are in hand for IMCA’s third annual Manufacturer’s Cup contest.
Modified builders will compete for national and regional awards, based on final top 10 standings in each of the five regions this season.
The builder with the top overall point total will be recognized as the national Manufacturer of the Year, a title that will be accompanied by a $500 prize and a trophy, along with jackets for all staff members courtesy of Speedway Motors.
DirtHead will give wall graphics of each car in the regional top 10’s to the respective builders.
New to the Manufacturers’ Cup field are Allen Autosports of Urbana, Mo.; DirtWorks Race Cars of Walker, Mo.; Kazzbuilt Race Cars of Waterloo; and Smiley’s Racing Chassis of Mesquite, Texas.
They join Belleville Motorsports of Bellevillle, Kan.; Billsbuilt Race Cars of Wichita, Kan.; Destroyer Chassis of Kennedale, Texas; GRT Race Cars of Greenbrier, Ark.; defending national Manufacturer of the Year Harris Auto Racing of Boone; Hoffman Race Cars of Oronogo, Mo.; Jet Racing of Beatrice, Neb.; Larry Shaw Racing of Batesville, Ark.; Medieval Chassis of Mayer, Minn.; Skyrocket Chassis of Fertile; Sharp Racing Products of Amarillo, Texas; and Victory Chassis of Boone.
“This program is a great way for Modified chassis builders to get more exposure,” noted IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder. “Different builders won in each of the five regions last year and 13 builders had one or more cars finish in the top 10 in regional points.”
Manufacturer’s Cup awards will be presented during the national IMCA awards banquet in November.
