Effingham, IL - The Midwest Auto Racing Association (MARA) has released its 2003 Midgetcar schedule. Twenty-six races are on tap this season at sixteen different venues. Notable dates on the schedule are the Pepsi/Mt. Dew Knoxville Midget Championship in Knoxville, IA on May 30 & 31, the Hooker Hood Classic at the newly built Delta Bowl Speedway in Tunica, MS on June 20 & 21, and a return to the LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, IL for the first annual Octoberfest Midget National on October 4th.
MARA will also have the Gateway Short Track Regional Series again this season promoted by Brown Management. Those events will continue to be held at Belle-Clair Speedway in Belleville, IL. These events will pay both MARA National and Regional Series points at these events.
2002 MARA National Champion Steve Knepper and 2002 Gateway Short Track Series Champion Donnie Lehmann will have their hands full this season defending their titles with the likes of Mike Hess, Tim Siner, Craig Carey and Chad Branson looking for their first MARA titles.
