(Riverside, MO) -- Remembering his father who passed away earlier this year, Alan Vaughn was honored for the second straight time as champion of the O'Reilly MLRA at the series annual banquet before a packed room Saturday night at Argosy Casino. Vaughn, of Belton, Mo., showed appreciation to his many sponsors and crew by presenting each an award and thanked all of those involved in his race team.

"It was a hard fought year as it is any year," said Vaughn. "We had a lot of luck go our way to win this, and my Dad was the biggest part of this team. He gave 110 perecent to everything we did and we'll miss him."

It's the third overall title for Vaughn after winning five feature races during the 2004 season.

Rusty Dukes of Fair Grove, Mo. was presented the "Rookie of the Year" award.

It was announced that series title sponosr O'Reilly Auto Parts has renewed for three more seasons.
