Rich Vleck, TULSA, Okla. (March 10, 2009) - The series that is a favorite for both fans and teams is returning this year with a record amount up for grabs.
A-Verdi Storage Containers, of Savannah, NY has resigned as title sponsor of the King of Central New York Series. This will be the third year of the regional series, and every year A-Verdi has had their name affixed to the series.
This season, A-Verdi has helped to take the point fund dedicated to the series to an all-time high. With at least $4,000 in the point fund, $1,000 of which going to 2009 A-Verdi King of Central New York Champion, teams from all around are sure to turn out for the selected six races.
As has been the case in the first two years, the series opens up at the Fulton Speedway on the first Saturday of May. Two weeks later, Dean Hoag’s Black Rock Speedway will host their first of two races as part of the series on May 15.
The A-Verdi King of Central New York Series will visit the Canandaigua Speedway on June 13, which will mark the midway point of the six-race series.
The series returns to Brewerton Speedway and Cayuga County Fair Speedway in July. Both races will run on the same weekend, on Friday, July 10 at Brewerton and Sunday July 12 at Cayuga County.
The final race of the series will not only determine the point fund distribution, it will also be a $4,000-to-win event. Black Rock Speedway Insinger Race Fuels NY Nationals on August 7 will be the championship event of the series and is sure to be one of the most intense events of the season.
This series will get additional exposure as four of the six races are currently scheduled for Hot Wings TV, available on Time Warner Cable Sportsnet Channels across Upstate New York.
