A Very Interesting Article On Modern Oils, ZDDP, Flat Tappet Cams:

would using the lifter with oil holes in them take care of everthing? Thanks

I think that would be helpful especially on an engine that's going to see a lot of low speed use sort of like the trick of using a 2.8 V6 lifter in a hydraulic cam big Chevy for street use. But with that said if the oil isn't effective on a molecular level it isn't going to provide long term wear resistance no matter how much is supplied to the cam/lifter interface or so it seems.

Personally I don't think it is needed or helpful in a B mod engine at least with spring loads of under 400lbs open. I would recommend using the Valvoline Racing Formula or some other similar oil and a proper break in.
