Tri City adds UMP Crate Late Models to 2018.

The UMP Crate Late Models will run 2x a month. The division will run under the UMP DIRTcar Pro Crate Late Models rules.

The 2018 schedule will be released at our annual Rules meeting the date TBA.
Opening night for 2018 is Friday, April 6th this will be the first night for the UMP Crate Late Models.

How many locally will support this class? It really dwindled down when they were first run and not many tracks around here even run them. Good deal for the part time racer and im justt asking if there is enough local support for this class as i know of some who are interested but dont want to run a few nights then the class gets cancelled due to low car counts. Charleston for example had only 6 cars on some of their nights

And will it be tech’d more. One of the problems that class has always had
 
I am excited about this addition as a fan I just am wondering if the Supers are going be off now on those nights? (I hope not)

Issue is this...i just got into a pretty stupid
Discussion via the social media pages as a guy i know is seeking a 602. Another guy replied “hey i got one. 18 nights old and ready to go. $3500”. I told my buddy “man you can buy them new for 3700 plus shipping and a warranty”. Guy selling the engine replied “yea but this is dyno tuned and blueprinted”. There lies the problem. Class wasnt meant for all that yet still is going
On and dyno the motor is legal. To blueprint it it has to ne taken apart and this is a self proclaimed legal ump crate engine
