CAMARGO, IL – The Haulmark All Star Circuit of Champions sprint car series once again will offer a $10,000 cash prize to the 2005 Rookie-of-the-Year. Three champions from other series are making their move to the All Stars this season in search of the 10 grand prize.
“We feel this is a great incentive for a young driver to run the whole season with us,” series President Guy Webb stated. “It’s one of the top sprint car rookie payouts in the country. And the competition this season will be tougher than ever.”
For 2005, so far the crop of drivers expected to run for the rookie title is led by Cody Geldart of Mossley,Ontario, Canada. Geldart was the 2004 Southern Ontario Sprints (SOS) Champion. Mike Brecht, the 2004 NRA (National Racing Alliance) 360 champion from Deshler, Ohio is also expected to contend as is former USAC champion Tony Elliott in the Ray Pullins No. 29.
In 2004, Jeremy Campbell of Monroe, MI topped a stellar crop of rookie contenders to capture the Rookie-of-the-Year trophy. Also in contention were Brock Mayes, Tim Hunter, Paul May, Jon Agan and Eddie Lynch.
Any other driver interested in contending for the Rookie-of-the-Year honors still has time to purchase an All Star membership and compete for the title. The next All Star races will be at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, OH on April 15-16, 2005.
