Macon, IL – Justin Allgaier of Riverton, IL has had his share of victories in Late Models as well as the ARCA/ReMax stock car series but he has never won a midget feature until now. Allgaier passed Mike Hess with 5 laps to go to win the 30 lap O’Reilly POWRi presented by Lucas Oil midget feature Friday night at Macon Speedway driving Ebby Bergfield’s Spike chassis powered by Esslinger midget. Hess started on the pole and paced the field with Decatur’s Rich Camfield in tow. The fast way around the 1/5 dirt facility was on the cushion and slide jobs were the common for the evening. Allgaier would start eighth and quickly made his way to third behind Camfield. Allgaier would slide past Camfield on lap 12 and set his sights on Hess. Cautions would bunch the field up on lap 23 and give Allgaier to set up Hess. On lap 25 Allgaier would pass Hess going into turn one but only to have Hess return the favor coming out of two. In the next corner Allgaier would try again and made it stick for good leading the final 5 laps. Following Allgaier and Hess would be Camfield, Brad Kuhn and Kevin Olson rounding out the top five.

Michael Severs of Collison, IL started on the pole and would lead the first seven laps. Brown started 8th in the event and used what he learned in the midget feature to ride the cushion around traffic and pass Severs for the lead on lap 8. Derek King of Vienna, IL who started 5th would also use what he learned in the midget event to chase down Brown in the closing laps. Brown would prove to be to strong up front and lead the final 12 laps for the victory. Following Brown and King at the finish would be Severs, Ryan Guyett, and Nathan Benson.
