An observation of the Tri-City race last night

the kids at the playground area where also hit with big dirt clods and rocks . couple of them wound up with nots on there heads...might wanna look into a catch net ?? for turn 1 ??? to at least block the clods and rocks from hitting the kids while they are swinging...........not *****in just letting you know..... thanks....

I really didn't think $25 was all that bad. Very high caliber field. Concessions were very reasonable. We got some good seats up high (without a blanket). We got a descent, dry parking spot.
I kind of liked the time trial deal. My only concern was the track conditions, but they tried to fix em, and thats all a fan can ask for.
Big thumbs up to the tow truck drivers... They worked there buts off all night.
Have a great week

I personally LIKED how qualifying was handled. I hope they handle it like that for all shows that require qualifying.
You are seeing group qualifying more and more....I personally like it too. Qualifying can be a long, drawn out process especially if you have alot of cars...group qualiifying takes care of this. You can qualify 4 or 5 cars at a time.

Another thing I noticed that I kinda griped about, and it had nothing to do with the track or facility, was the apparrel trailers. WAAAAY too high of prices for t-shirts!! I am a HUGE Billy Moyer fan...always have, always will....but cmon...$27 dollars for a damn t-shirt is a little much. Ive seen countless others not only at Tri last weekend but online and their shirts are $27-30....just unacceptable. I guess I will wear my vintage Moyer shirt circa 1998 until it absolutely comes apart before I will pay $27 for a new one!!

That was one of the things I said to my wife as we entered the new entrance....I said to her, "Wow..they put the kids playground at Turn 1??" Hope Kevin does put some kind of net or catch fence so the yougsters dont get pelted with dirt clouds cause Im telling you....sitting at turn 2 at Belleville you get absolutely blasted with mudballs and Im telling ya...they HURT!!!!

racingfan03.....how much did they charge to get in on friday night???? they get money for 2 nights of racing to pay there purse.... right?

thats exactly right. its basically 45 dollars for them if ya watch the full show. anywhere you go for 10000 or more to win its atleast gonna be 25 bucks

anyway... back to the wall in turn 4. i hate seeing guys loose momentium and tear up cars because of the way it juts out. it just doesn't fit the flow of corner

Tornado

I hear ya! A big shout-out to the "Tornado" for being the best finishing local SLM driver!!!![QUOTE=RACN911;746140]I really didn't think $25 was all that bad. Very high caliber field. I think the blankets are bull zit, people get pit passes go in and put blankets down to reserve a seat for who ever to sit there later,, I would like to see that stoped, u stand in line get there early, get in go to your spot to sit and there is a blanket there,,, I would like to pick them up and give them a toss, its gen admission sit where you want no early saving places...

Sunday thoughts. I never get on here at say anything about a track. I think we are all blessed to have places and people willing to put up with all the stuff it takes to run a track. I am gratefull to have places to go and enjoy the sport I love. I do wish one issue would get corrected. The blanket reserve is one. We drove 2 hours to get to tri city to be there when the gates open. When we arrived, there were already a ton of spots taken up by blankets and seats. I have no problem not sitting in the same area all the time. Thats not the issue. The issue is that my money is paying for a seat. And yes I did get a seat. The gate time said 5:00pm they open and that is when we all should be able to go in and get a seat. Just because I cannot get to the track at 9:00 am and tape down my tarp or blanket is no reason I should have to go and get the "left overs". The folks who are camping there are not paying for their camping spot and the concessions are not open for them to spend any money, so why should they get priority because they are there. Or why should some one who lives close by be able to go secure there spot then go back home until later. In fact most of the folks that do get there early or camp, usually go out to their rigs or back to their homes to eat and drink. So I actually spend more money at the track then they do since we eat dinner and snacks there all night long. The stands should be closed to folks in the pits and no one should be able to go in early and take space that they have not even paid for yet. Just my thought.

I make the 2 hour trip to tri city a lot over the course of the racing season, not only for big shows but just for weekly racing. I have supported them ever since I was a kid. I think Kevin and Tammy are doing a heck of a job as a promoters and track owners. Yes the concession lines seemed to be longer and slower than usual at big races. I am sure that issue will get worked out as time goes on. The walk from the ticket booth to the stands seemed longer than before. But no different than pevely. The new ticket booth was nice. The landscapping was nice and you can see that it is going to be a sharp entrance once everything is complete. I think the track was in the best shape it could have been considering the weather conditions lately. The heat races were good. The features where excellent. All in all it was a great night and I enjoyed racing. Kevin and Tammy, keep up the good work and "cudos" on the new improvements.

Most tracks let people who buy pit passes go in earlier (they cost more than GA tickets), but Granite City does not. For those of you that are complaining, if you want better seats, then you need to get there earlier.

The pit gate to the grandstands was not opened before the front gate.

I have been there before got my pit pass walked right in the track got a soda went to our seats sat there while my son and his friends went back to the pits to take pics and walk around,

I went early sunday , got there around 1 and nobody got into the main stands from the pits before the main gate was open.. the guy at the pit gate waited til the main gate was open before he opened the pit gate

Last year they started keeping the gates from the pits locked until the front gates opened up.
