Belleville, IL – Belleville’s Brett Anderson won the 35 lap O’Reilly POWRi presented by Lucas Oil “Arnie Knepper Memorial” midget race Wednesday night during the St. Clair County Fair driving the family owned Spike/Fontana powered number 11 midget. ARCA star Justin Allgaier from Riverton, IL started on the pole and set the pace during the early stages of the yellow flag filled event. Allgaier was pursued by Steve Knepper and Australia’s Adam Clark while Anderson, who started seventh, would move through traffic to trail the trio. On lap 21, Anderson would take advantage of Knepper and Clark coming out of turn 2 when Knepper jumped the cushion and Clarke had to hit the brakes to avoid Knepper which allowed Anderson to dive underneath the pair. Anderson would set his sights on Allgaier who had about an eight car length advantage. On lap 26, Anderson would slide past Allgaier and lead the lap with Allgaier returning the favor and leading lap 27. As the two entered turn one again Anderson would make his move stick and hold on the final eight laps for the victory. Following Anderson and Allgaier at the line were Clark, Nick Knepper and Zach Daum.
