Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (May 1, 2007) – Action continues for the American Sprint Car Series Southern Tour this Saturday night as the series takes to the "Darlington of the Dirt Tracks", the high-banked, 3/8-mile Laurens County Speedway dirt oval in Laurens, SC.

And with nearly 200 feature wins over the course of his career, Kenny Adams of Malabar, FL, leads the way into Laurens County Speedway after scoring his first ASCS Southern Tour in this past weekend's season opener versus the ASCS Mid-Atlantic Region at Virginia Motor Speedway.

Adams closest current ASCS Southern Tour championship contender is Johnny Bridges, who finished third in Saturday's opener. Bridges, who fell just five points shy of the '06 ASCS Southern Tour title, topped last year's series event at Laurens County Speedway.

Adams owns a feature win at Laurens County as well, racing to victory lane in a 2005 event atop the high-banked speedplant.

Saturday's card, which is slated to go green at 8:00 p.m., marks the second of 17 nights of action for the ASCS Southern Tour in 2007 at a dozen different tracks throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Georgia.

Laurens County Speedway is located east of Laurens, SC, on US 76, then 0.6 miles southwest on SR 127, then 0.1 mile southeast on Racetrack Road. For more information, contact the track at 864-984-2427.

The 2007 season marks the 16th year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing for the American Sprint Car Series. With a dozen different Regions in addition to the O'Reilly American Sprint Cars on Tour National series, ASCS will sanction approximately 240 nights of racing at more than 100 different race tracks throughout at least 30 different states and Canada.
