Baldwin's new Dart LS Next dirt Modified engines!!

One our other thread on these LS series engine's we talked alot about how strong and reliable these engines are, this new block has made a huge leap at making them ever better than what we could have ever though. They have cut the oil demands down from 18GMP to 4GPM, that was a major improvement and the cylinder barrel is dropped in this block which allows for more stroke with keeping the piston stable the whole way through the travel, they have fixed the windage problems in the block by going back to a more conventional main cap set up, the deck is thicker and the block is stronger and no addition weight, its actually lighter than the conventional engine. These block's are extremely new, if you do some research on them you will notice that everybody saying the exact same thing about them but most havent used one yet, we have build, dynoed and tested so when you need a dirt modified or late model engine built I would highly recommend giving us a call to see what we can do for you on the LS series engine. The cost is lower, the engine's make great power and torque and are very drivable and thats what we are after with these. Check out www.baldwinengines.com and give us a call at 573-225-6886. The all aluminum version will be out very soon and a completely new cylinder head option to follow, this is a game changer. These blocks can be purchased at www.baldwinraceparts.com

744hp and 708ftlbs, GM heads, Hyd roller(no setting valves), 1.75 shorter on block length so it saves 34 pounds on the nose, lots of advantages, plus we can sell it at around 16,500-17,000 turn key.

No, this combo made it peak hp number at 6000 and didnt fall off, peak torque was made at 4750-4900 and it was a very smooth torque curve. We raced this combo at Poplar Bluff Speedway at the Cotton Boll and we turned it 7900rpm, due to bad luck in the heat we started 26th in the feature and came up to 14th and received the Comp Cams hard charger award on a track that there was hardly any passing on. Jacob Davis J21 was the driver and his comments were all positive, with that much power and torque it was still very drivable and thats what we have been seeing more and more with this build, working on more right now with a little different combo. We are using MSD coil over plug were legal and a distributor driven on the rest.

Another big bonus by not having to turn them so high to get the power is longevity of the build, we will not stress the parts as bad and longer freshen times can be expected.
