Bayne Wins Pole for Kroger 200 at ORP at Indianapolis

Trevor Bayne won the Pole Award for the KROGER 200 with a lap of 22.296 seconds, 110.764 mph. This is his first pole in eight NASCAR Nationwide Series Nationwide Series races. This is his first pole and fifth top-10 start in 2009. This is his first pole in one races at O'Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis.

Brad Coleman (second) posted his third top-10 start of 2009 and his second in three races at O'Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis.

Steve Wallace (third) posted his first top-10 start at O'Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis. It is his third in 20 races this season. Erik Darnell (fourth) was the fastest qualifying rookie.

Kyle Busch, winner last week at Gateway and series points leader will start in 41st position. Johnny Sauter qualified for Busch who was at Indianapolis Motor Speedway participating the Brickyard happy hour practice.

67-year-old Morgan Shepherd (No. 89 Lagina Plumbing / Eldora Speedway Chevrolet), qualified 27th place at ORP where he holds track record for most wins (three). This year marks Shepherd’s 42nd consecutive season of driving in a NASCAR national series event. He’s 26th in the series points standings and has posted three top-20 finishes this season. Shepherd is the only active driver to have won an inaugural event at a track that has been on the NASCAR Nationwide Series schedule for 20 years or more. He registered his O’Reilly Raceway Park victories in 1982 (inaugural event), ‘84 and ‘88.
