Benefit to be held for the Georgie Handley family.

Georgie Handley lost his life in a racing accident on Sunday, September 29, 2002 at the Springfield Mile located at the Illinois State Fairgrounds. He left behind a wife and 4 young children and the proceeds from this benefit will go for the childrens education. Please come and help us celebrate his life and provide for his childrens education.

WHEN: Sunday, December 1, 2002
WHERE: Eagles Club (2700 E. Ash, Springfield, IL)
Doors will open at Noon, a $10.00 cover includes food (Hog Roast)and music (music is from 5:00-8:00 p.m.) there will be a cash bar.
There will be an auction at 2:00 p.m. including several racing items. There will be face painting for the kids, a 50-50 drawing to be held, plus several other things happening throughout the day. Please come out and help make this day a day to remember for the Handley family.

We are accepting any and all donations (cash, or items to auction) prior to the benefit. Contact Kelly or Jerry Myers at 217-525-0897 for addresses to send the donations to or Carolyn Schuh at 217-528-4122 and leave a message. Please make all checks payable to: The George Handley Childrens Education Fund. A trust fund for the Handley children has been set up at Illinois National Bank. Donations can be made attention to Cathy Lamar, 322 E. Capitol Ave., Springfield, IL 62701. Handley's family said the money will be used for their college educations.
