BONNE TERRE, Mo. -- Big River Sand Drags will crown it's 2003 overall and class champions Saturday night with both the final night of regular competition in all classes and it's "Tournament of Champions."
Going into the final night there are still several top positions up for grabs that would not only lock down one of the top positions it would also qualify them for the "Tournament of Champions" that will be held immediately afterward.
"This is that time of year when it really gets to be a lot of fun," said Big River Sand Drags owner/promoter Jason Waller. "If you've never come out to watch one of the races at our track then Saturday night is the time to come. We might be getting done a little late, but it's all worth while."
There will be two overall top eliminators for the track crowned on Saturday night with the "Tournament of Champions," the ATV Overall Top Eliminator and the MSRA Overall Top Eliminator. Not only is the honor and prestige of being the overall winner on the line so is a nearly six-foot tall trophy, a nice check and a trip to be honored at the St. Louis Auto Racing Fan Club's "Banquet of Champions" on January 31st, 2004 in St. Charles.
Gates will open at 3 p.m. Saturday with time trials at 4, registration ends at 6 with racing at 7. For more information on Big River Sand Drags contact Waller at (573) 358-5009.
At Noon on Sunday, the track will hold it's year-ending barbecue and rules meeting for the 2004 season.
