Wheatland, MO (August 22nd, 2009)-Billy Moyer lived up to his "Mr. Smooth" nickname by methodically working his way from his 14th starting position to capture the $3,000 O'Reilly MLRA win at Lucas Oil Speedway on Saturday night. John Anderson put up a valiant battle late in the race but had to settle for second at the finish. Oxford, Iowa's Dave Eckrich had a strong run to take the third spot. Brad Looney returned to MLRA action by finishing in fourth while Springfield, Missouri's Terry Phillips came home in fifth. Hermitage, Missouri's Eric Turner and current MARS Series point leader finished in sixth with Quincy, Illinois' Rickey Frankel in seventh. Denny Woodworth slid back to eighth at the finish with New Richmond, Wisconsin's Pat Doar ninth and Rookie Rylan Long in tenth.

Denny Woodworth led the field to the green flag from the Pole but the caution flag flew for a spin by Jeremy Payne in Turn 1. As the field was reset, it was Dave Eckrich charging to the lead. Eckrich continued to lead with Woodworth and Looney in tow. Moyer worked his way to the third spot by lap nine as Eckrich continued to lead. The caution flag flew for the second and final time on Lap #5 as David Turner made heavy contact with the turn 3 wall. As Eckrich began dealing with lap traffic at the halfway point, Moyer and Anderson followed slicing and dicing their way through the field on an absolutely perfect racetrack. Anderson overtook Eckrich on Lap 34 and appeared to have the car to win but Moyer was patiently stalking as he looked for an opening. The opening came with two laps to go as Moyer shot by Anderson to take the lead and the win with Anderson finishing in second and Eckrich in third.

Moyer's Victory Circle Chassis is powered by a Clements Racing Engine with sponsorship support from Banner Valley Hauling, J & J Steel, Karl Chevrolet, Minx Show Palace, and Car City. The Feature was worth $3,000 to win. Moyer is a Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame Inductee and is a 4-Time Winner of the prestigious World 100. The Race was slowed by only two cautions. MLRA Provisionals were awarded to Joe Kosiski & Chris Smyser. With John Anderson's second place finish and Al Purkey's 15th place finish, Anderson has now assumed the MLRA point lead heading into the home stretch of the season. Complete MLRA Points standings will be updated and posted at www.MLRAracing.com.
