Inside Line Promotions - GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (Aug. 26, 2013) - John Binz put together a great comeback last Friday at Mountain Creek Speedway.

After a rough start to his heat race, Binz rallied his mini sprint in the feature to record his 12th top-10 finish of the season.

"We had a decent night I guess," he said. "At least we got a top 10 out of the deal."

Binz started his heat race on the inside of the second row, but was on the wrong end after the initial start was called back.

"The first start the leader goes and the outside pole guy doesn't go," he said. "The second start the outside pole guy is at the flag stand when we're coming out of turn four and they let that go. Everybody on the outside passed us. The start pretty much screwed us."

Binz lost several positions and finished seventh in his heat race, which started him on the outside of the eighth row for the main event.

"We were way too tight in the heat race," he said. "We changed a bunch of stuff for the feature; moved the right rear (tire) out, changed the stagger around, messed around with the shocks."

The changes worked as Binz advanced from 16th to place eighth on the narrow track.

"It was right around the tires," he said. "You pretty much had to run a guy down, wait a couple of laps to get by him. We were good, just ran out of laps. It was probably the best I've been there since running third earlier this year."

Binz is scheduled to compete on Saturday with a wing on top at Kennedale Speedway Park in Kennedale, Texas.
