DOE RUN, MO--September 10, 2004 Sixteen year old Joey Boyd of Farmington, MO has came a long way in the few years he's been racing and Friday night proved he has become a force to be reckoned with.

Boyd started the 600cc Multi feature race from the second row and despite racing 3 wide at times for the lead and encountering numerous lapped cars, kept his cool and led the field across the finish line for his first feature win this season. Casey Barnhouse came from a 9th starting position to finish second, Matt Dotson third, Jake Bess fourth and Tom Sydnor fifth.

Jimmy Bridgeman won the first heat, Bess second and Ronnie Slade third. Tom Sydnor won the second heat, Boyd second and Dotson third.

Ron Moser picked up his second feature win of the season in the Mini Stock class. Bill Nickelson and Moser put on quite a show for the fans, racing neck and neck for the lead at the start/finish line. At the checkered, it was Moser in front for the victory with Nickelson in the runner up spot with last week's winner Rob Denny in the third spot. Dave Snider finished an impressive fourth after a nasty crash in the early stages of the race that ended up with his vehicle turning over and landing on top of the #24 of Phil Norris. Rounding out the top five was Mike Whitehead in the #12.

In the Stock Kart feature, Jesse Wright came from a ninth starting position for the win. Brad Paquet finished second, Scott Hutchins finished in the third spot, Andrew Cash fourth and Anthony Baumer fifth. Hutchins won the heat race followed by Braydon Wright and Paquet.

Wayne Arnold was two for two in the Super Stock Kart class with Megan Bell in second place for both races. Kyle Jarrett finished the feature race in third after dropping out of the heat race with motor issues.

Racing will resume Friday, September 17th with "Modified Madness." This will also mark the end of the 2004 race season for the Kart classes with a special "open" competition. Mini Stock, Dwarf and 600cc Multi will also participate. The 2004 race season will conclude on Friday, September 24th with the annual Mechanics and Powder Puff races in the Dwarf and Mini Stock classes. September 24th will also be the final night of the special non-winged point series for the 600cc Multi class.
