ABBOTTSTOWN, PA-(6-12-10) By Brian Liskai- All Star Circuit of Champions- Brian Montieth knows every inch of Lincoln Speedway and he used that knowledge to hold of Brian Leppo to take Saturday s O Reilly Auto Parts All Star Circuit of Champions victory.

Montieth, who started third, passed outside front row starter and race-long leader Leppo on the back stretch of lap 10 while navigating through lapped traffic. Leppo, who missed out on an All Star victory Friday night at Williams Grove by less than an inch, had two more shots at Montieth following late race cautions, but couldn t secure the pass and again ran runner-up, this time by 1.07 seconds. It was Montieth s second win of the season at the Pigeon Hills oval, which also helped boost his current point lead over 10-time track champ Fred Rahmer as he looks for his third championship in a row.

This Triple X chassis has been working. Scotty, Todd and the boys have this thing great when I turn it goes, said Montieth. The track was a little greasy there in the beginning. I was sort of afraid the track would dry off, but I think the track s actually decent.

A three hour rain delay pushed the start of the A-main to 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
Earlier in the evening, 27 cars had taken qualifying laps when the rains came, forcing the All Star officials to rerun time trials after a lengthy delay.

Bellevue, Ohio s Cap Henry, who currently leads the All Star Rookie of the Year points, started on the pole of the feature. Going into turn one on the start, Henry got high, nearly losing control, but quickly regained his composure, falling to sixth. On lap two Doug Esh, Tim Shaffer and Jim Siegel spun in turns one and two, bringing out the caution. On the restart, Leppo would lead Montieth, Rahmer, Aaron Ott and Friday s All Star winner Daryn Pittman. Leppo would set a torrid pace, hitting lapped traffic by the sixth circuit. Montieth would use that to his advantage, racing into the lead on lap 10.

Montieth could not shake Leppo as Rahmer, Ott and Pittman also closed. A lap 22 caution gave Montieth a clear track with Leppo on his tail. Two lapped machines separated second and third place Rahmer. Two laps later the action would grind to a half when sixth place runner Alan Krimes flipped in turn three. On the restart Montieth and Leppo drove away while Rahmer and Ott waging a tremendous battle for third.

Montieth would race under the checkered for his 18th career Lincoln Speedway victory. Leppo, Rahmer, Ott and Pittman would round out the top five.
