Grain Valley, MO(September 8th)-

Racing in his hometown for the first time in a couple of seasons, Brian Brown won the O’Reilly Auto Parts Winged Outlaw Warriors feature at Valley Speedway Saturday night.
Jay Russell led the first lap from his front row outside starting position. On lap two, Brown moved by Russell from his second row starting spot and would steadily increase his lead to about a straightaway when the races only yellow came out for fifth place Terry Hinck, who rolled to a stop in turn two on lap five. Hinck would not be able to continue.
On the restart, Brown would again jump out to a big advantage with Russell and Jesse Hockett having a good battle for the runner-up position. On lap six, Josh Fisher was able to work his way past Randy Martin for fourth. A lap later, Larry Pinegar was able to get by Martin for fifth.
Brown would continue to lead as Russell was continually pressured by Hockett for the second spot with Fisher and Pinegar following. On lap nine, Jonathan Cornell was able to move by Martin for sixth.
For the next five laps, the order would remain this way as Fisher started moving in on Hockett for third. On lap fourteen, Fisher would move by Hockett and he would set his sights on Russell.
With the leaders in heavy lapped traffic, Brown continued to lead as Fisher would get by Russell for the second position on lap seventeen. Fisher was very fast in the middle of the track and over the final couple of laps, he ate into the big lead once held by Brown.
As the duo came to the checkered flag, Brown was able to hold off Fisher by about a car length to win his twenty ninth career WOW feature in his Tim and Gina Doogs owned Maxim with Ostrich power. Fisher would finish a strong second in his Rusty Fisher owned Ostrich/Maxim. Russell would finish a WOW career best third in his Sheryl Russell owned F5. Hockett would run a solid fourth in his VKCC Motorsports DRC with Pinegar rounding out the top five in the Doug Lovegrove Eagle. Cornell would run sixth with Martin seventh. Rounding out the top ten were Tyler Blank, J Kinder, and Andy Korte. The Winged Outlaw Warriors will be in action next Saturday September 15th at 24 Raceway in Moberly, MO.

On the second attempt at a start, Boyer climbed Black’s tire sending him into a series of flips in turn one as Mahannah made some contact trying to avoid the flip. All three drivers would be unable to continue. Martin would get by Klabunde and would go on to an easy win. The best battle in this one was Klabunde and Korte for second with Klabunde edging Korte at the flagstand for the spot.

King had moved up several positions and then he got too high and backed into the wall just off of turn two ending his night. By lap six, Black had moved on the tail of Potter and Newman, but his chance at a transfer would come to an end on lap seven as he spun. Potter and Newman continued their battle with Newman taking the spot on the white flag lap in turn one and Potter using the high line to move back around at the finish.
