Moberly, MO(September 20th)-Moving from his third starting position, Brian Brown led every lap to take the season finale for the O’Reilly Auto Parts Winged Outlaw Warriors at 24 Raceway Saturday night. The win was the first for Brown as a car owner in his Super Clean/Ditzfeld Transfer Maxim and his third series win on the year. Following him the entire distance was Jonathan Cornell in the Kiowa Builders/M&N General Consultants Maxim.
The race got off to a rocky start as on the original start, Pete Crall spun out. The second attempt at green was called back and on the third try Crall got together with Kyle Bellm with both being able to restart. The fourth try proved successful with Brown moving out front. The race would stay green until lap six when Ryan Marsch, Tony Crank, and Bellm got together to bring out the yellow. All three would continue. The final yellow came out on lap sixteen as Crall came to a stop on the frontstretch ending his night. Rusty Potter stopped during the yellow ending his night as well.
Finishing behind Brown and Cornell were Josh Fisher in the Rusty Fisher/ASAP Properties Maxim followed by Dennis Moore Jr. in the G&D Auto Electric Maxim. Rounding out the top five was Curtis Evans in the Arctic Cat/Creason Pipeline Services Maxim. Charging through the field was B Feature winner Don Droud Jr. in the Jeff and Jerry Smith Eagle as he passed ten cars to finish sixth. Mike Trent ran seventh with Randy Martin, Mark Shirshekan, and Jon Corbin rounding out the top ten.
With his eighth place finish, Martin captured his fourth straight WOW championship in the Diamond Pet Foods J&J.
