Brushcreek Motorsports Readies for 10th Annual American Heritage Classic

(Peebles, OH) Brushcreek Motorsports Complex will host the tenth annual American Heritage Classic week end on Friday August 6, and Saturday August 7 2010. The annual event at Brushcreek Motorsports Complex attracts many enthusiastic open wheeled modified drivers with the hopes of taking home a brand new Harley Davidson motorcycle.

For the first six years the late model class headlined the unique event, with late model stars Don O'Neal, Mike Balzona and Jackie Boggs (4) taking home brand new American Heritage Harley Davidsons for their efforts. However, for the first time in the events history the open wheel modifieds headlined the '07 event with Canadian Steve Arpin taking home a brand new American Heritage Harley Davidson for his efforts.

The open wheeled modified stars returned in '08 for the running of the eighth annual American Heritage race, an event that saw Waterford, Pennsylvania's Dave Hess Jr. out duel '07 Heritage winner Steve Aprin and Joey Kramer in a classic three way battle.

The open wheeled modifieds returned again in '09 for the ninth annual running of the American Heritage race, an event that saw London Kentucky’s Don Adams hold off Gibson City, Illinois’ Kevin Weaver who started 24th and came through the field to finish second in the weather shortened event.

Originally dubbed the American Heritage 101, the annual event featured a 101 lap race for the first 3 years, but was shortened to 58 in 2004 in memory of Jake McCane. Jake McCane was a partner of Brushcreek Motorsports Complex and a major force behind "The American Heritage 101". He suddenly and unexpectedly passed away on May 9, 2004. In honor of his memory the American Heritage classic A-main will be 58 laps, which was Jake's age when he unexpectedly passed away.

The tenth annual American Heritage Classic will mark the fourth time the open wheeled modifieds have headlined the prestigious event. The 2010 winner of the 58 lap main event will have the choice of a 2010 Harley Davidson V-Rod Muscle or $10,000 “We wanted to do something special to mark our 10 year anniversary and the tenth running of this event, so we decided to offer the V-Rod as the motorcycle this season” stated Brushcreek Motorsports owner/promoter Tom Partin.

The annual event will kick off Friday August 6 with the "Night Before the Heritage". The "Night Before the Heritage" is a complete one day show consisting of modifieds 25 laps, $1,000 to win, plus legends and crazy compacts. Pit gate opens at 4:00 PM, General admission gate opens at 5:00 PM. Pill Draw ends at 6:15 with hot laps at 7:00 PM.
