Bruton smith here's an idea

Sad thing is land really isnt worth much. Its across from a landfill and the other side is east st louis(dont need to tell anyone how bad that place can get). They built that truck stop because of the track. It will still get business........dont get me wrong. Just really a true shame. Your totally dead on there 70RT.....why would anyone hold a race when knowing its gonna be in the upper 90's and provide little water and chillers for the people there. That is what got me. Every fountain i went too was off. They had some chillers set up............1 was actually working at 100 percent. Bottled water and beverages are overpriced to say the least. And........like midget said.......bean counters got involved. you could see that over the years in how the track was ran. Hope they are happy now. They really showed how its done...lol. Ive been thinking and here is an idea. Level it. Put a dirt track in.....heck 2 dirt tracks. Use it for special shows and let people test and tune there. Build a fab shop to repair and adjust cars. Put a parts house there to sell stuff that will be needed. Have chassis builders either there or able to be contacted to get info on setups and help with problems racers are having(still havent got a way to fix the loose nut behind the wheel...but im sure they are working on it.)Dont get too involved with corporate business.........its racing and gotta keep it on a local level. Also...built a cart track for the up and coming racers. Be like a dirt track racing park. Have an area to buy used race cars and parts. Heck its a dream and in these tough times a total gamble. Be better than just letting a multi million dollar operation go poof. Im sure.......the dragstrip will be history too with this stuff going on. If not........more the merrier.

Not enough room? Bristol comes to mind... How much space is there around that track? Just wondering cause it looks REALLY SMALL in google?
