Bud Truck Returns To Racing at BRSD

Jason Waller drove the "Bud Truck" to top eliminator honors at Big River Sand Drags on Saturday night. Racing resumes this Saturday in all classes.

BONNE TERRE, Mo. -- (June 12, 2004) The Budweiser Truck made it's first appearance of the season at Big River Sand Drags Saturday night and it was a triumphant return as driver Jason Waller of Bonne Terre drove the truck to top eliminator honors in the Competition Eliminator class.
The "Bud Truck," formerly known as the "Busch Truck," is the winningest vehicle in the history of Big River Sand Drags going back to it's former owner, John McCullough.
Carla Glatczak of Potosi had finished first in the class with Waller second, but it was Waller winning the top eliminator race.
Two other long-time track favorites also made their 2004 debuts as Big River Sand Drags "Wall of Fame" member Gladys Edwards and former class champion Philip Beaird of St. Louis were also on hand. Beaird made the best of his appearance and captured top eliminator honors in the Vehicle ET class in his new truck. Karen Schmidt was the first place winner in the class, but it was second place winner, Beaird, winning the top eliminator race.
In the Stock Buggy class, Ralph Smith of Mineral Point was the first place winner, but it was second place winner Jeremy Sutton taking the top eliminator race.
In Super Pro ATV, Dillon Huff of Park Hills was the first place winner with Ed Bunch of Hillsboro taking second place and top eliminator.
In Pro ATV, Bobby Cunningham of Hartford, Ill. was the first place winner with second place winner Richard Finney of St. Louis taking top eliminator.
In ATV-1, Vernon Henson was the first place winner with second place winner Kyle Brown taking the top eliminator race.
In Junior ATV, Andrew Zack of High Ridge captured first place, but it was second place winner Kayla Dickens winning the top eliminator race.
