Carl Bellew Jr. returns to victory lane at Doe Run Raceway

DOE RUN, MO--(July 9, 2004) After several weeks of motor problems, Carl Bellew Jr. returned to victory lane in the #00 Mini Stock this past Friday night at Doe Run Raceway. Bellew, the 2003 Mini Stock champion, started the feature race from the front row after winning his heat race and led from start to finish. Rounding out the top five were Eric Bellew in second, Joe Ketcherside in third, Brian Cox in fourth and Ron Moser in fifth. Eric Bellew finished second behind brother Carl in the first heat with Chuck White third. Brian Cox earned his first win of the season in the second heat followed by Phil Norris and Moser.

Vince Conway and Steve Copeland treated the fans to some exciting action in the Dwarf car feature event. Copeland and Conway started the race from the third and sixth positions respectively, and battled all 15 laps until the checkered flew with Conway crossing the line first. Cliff Yates finished third, Billy Craig fourth and Mike Zaricor fifth. Zaricor won the heat race followed by John Leahy Jr. and Copeland.



Casey Barnhouse was the big winner in the 600cc Multi class, winning both his heat race and the feature event. Tony Roney finished second to Barnhouse in the main event followed by points leader Jimmy Bridgeman, Joey Boyd and Matt Dotson. Junior Ferguson followed Barnhouse across the line in the first heat with Roney finishing third. Bridgeman won the second heat with Jeremy Boyer second and Tyler Robbins third.



Michael Harp was a two time winner in the Super Stock Kart class, winning both his heat race and the feature. Wayne Arnold and Brad Paquet finished second and third behind Harp in both events. Megan Bell finished fourth in the main event with Kodi Giessing fifth.



Scott Hutchins visited the winners circle in the Stock Kart class after winning his feature event. Braydon Wright, Brad Paquet, Jesse Wright and Garrett LaBruyere round out the top five. Jesse Wright won the heat race followed by Landon Barks and Braydon Wright.



Friday, July 16th will be double points and mid season championships at Doe Run Raceway for the Mini Stock, 600cc Multi, Dwarf, Stock and Super Stock Kart classes.
