Chapman’s Can-Am hosts Sunday opener for World Products Empire State Series

LaFARGEVILLE, N.Y. (April 14) – Opening night for the ninth annual World Products Empire State Series takes traveling IMCA Modifieds back to the track that hosted the first ever tour race.

Chapman’s Can-Am Motorsports Park at LaFargeville hosts the 25 lap, $500 to win opener this Sunday, April 18. Pit gates open at 10 a.m., the grandstand opens at 11 a.m., hot laps are at 12:30 p.m. and racing starts at 1 p.m.

Paul Calhoun Jr. won the inaugural IMCA Empire State event at Can-Am on June 20, 2002. Dale Caswell collected two of his career leading 13 series wins there, in 2005 and 2007.

IMCA national, ButlerBuilt Eastern Region, Allstar Performance state and special series points will be awarded. There is no entry fee.

Pit passes are $25 with an IMCA or DIRT license, or $30 without. Grandstand admission is $12 for adults, $5 for students ages 10-14, and free for military personnel with ID and kids under nine.

Kevan Cook is the defending series champion. The second of seven dates this season is Sunday, May 30 at Skyline Raceway in Cortland.
