Charleston Speedway Results 5-5-12
Charleston speedway promoters didn't reach their goal of 1000
people in the stands, but came close. Being good sports, Gerald &
Darrell Hellman, Dean Hite came out during intermission and got
pies in their face. It was a great night for racing. There was a total of
70 cars. Alot of good races for the fans. And the track was in great shape.
Drivers were expressing their comments when picking up their pay.

In the street class heat winners were BJ Deal,Jordan Smith,Jr Wiltermood,
Dave Wheatley. BJ Deal started on the pole position in the feature event. BJ
picked his line and went on to lead the entire race and cruised into victory lane.
In the modified heat winners were Chad Evans,Gabe Menser,Dave Baldwin,Micheal
Meyer. There was 26 modifieds and they had to run a semi, Arby Burton won that race
to advance to main event. In the feature event Danny Schwartz who made is first
appearance this year, proved he was there to race. Schwartz started on the inside
third row and was in the lead before lap one was complete. On lap eight Schwartz
went high and able Chad Evans to get pass him coming out of turn four. A car spun
bringing out a caution. They went back to last completed lap, putting Schwartz back
in front. Gabe Menser was running a strong third and was running the high side of the
track. Menser not able to get a bite to advance his position. Roger Mills having a good
run started 8th and advanced second.
Pure stock class heat winners were Tim Miller and Randy Smyser. In the feature event
Randy Smyser continued his winning streak, winning his third consecutive feature. There
were good battles for 2nd between Dylan Barker and Kenny Cordes. They battled side by
side for several laps, Cordes got around Barker for second. Another good battle was for 4th
between Danny White Jr and Tim Akers. They battled side by side for a few laps. Akers finished
in fourth, but was disqualfied for matter undetermined.
Hornet class heat winners were Donavan Stark and Joey Smyser. Smyser continued his winning
streak also, winning his third consecutive feature. Alot of side by side racing and passing all
night long. Trophy Sponsor for next week Ice House Bar and Grill. Also $1000 to win for the
