Fastrak announces Cherokee Super Speedway as Fastrak “Weekly Sanctioned”

After meetings taking place between Owners Ronnie and Lennie Buff with Series Founder Stan Lester it is Official that the Cherokee Super Speedway will be Fastrak “weekly sanctioned” for 2006.

Manager/Owner Lennie Buff was quoted saying that he thought Fastrak was really on to something here. The $250,000.00 National Championship is just what people were looking for. You only have to travel one time a year to win a National Championship. Both Buff and Lester agree that with the rising fuel cost among other expenses this is a win-win for everyone.

Lennie Buff has been instrumental in taking crate Late Model racing to where it is today. Lester was quoted saying that Lennie was the man that really took a chance in the Carolinas. He has put on big shows and stepped out on a limb for the crate engine cars. No doubt he took a chance said Lester. Fastrak is very fortunate to have Cherokee involved.

Buff stated that the excitement built around the crate engine cars since the announcement has been overwhelming. The phone is ringing and people are once again excited about racing. Its great to see these racers this excited and we look forward to 2006. Hopefully one of our “home town” drivers will bring home that Championship.

There will also be an upcoming announcement about a 10 race mini-series between Cherokee and Thunder Valley that will have Fastrak involved in some of the events. The mini-series between the tracks will have a $5000.00 points fund as well.

So will the new Fastak National Champion come out of Cherokee? Only time will tell.
