This year’s season opener for the new Clarksville StormPay.com Speedway happens this weekend Saturday March 4th. Gates open at 12:00 noon, Hot Laps at 2:30 and racing action 3:30.
We are very excited, as we have added two new classes this year, Crate Late Models and a beginner class for the Mini Sprints. We have had a tremendous response concerning these added classes. This brings our total class count up to nine!
Everyone is preparing for the $50,000.00 to win Crate Late Model race, which will happen on July 28th 2007. Our phones haven’t stopped ringing. I spoke to Mr. Sid Johnson of Wyatt and Johnson Auto Dealership this past Saturday. He has made a spectactular jester! He has announced that any driver that purchases a crate motor from his dealership (which is located here in Clarksville Tennessee) will be given an additional $200.00 to the winner of the Crate Late Model race. Our first place winner of the Crate Late Model wins $800.00, so if the driver has purchased a motor from Mr. Johnson he will take home $1000.00. Wow! Not bad for the new and upcoming Late Model class!
This is our 5th season here at the Speedway. We continue to update most everything in site. Since the close of last season, we have added the new VIP Suites, new Pit Tower, about $5000.00 in repairs on the bleachers, a new Grand Entrance and a Game Room for the kid at heart. We have also purchased transponders, which will speed up the races even more. We always finish our races by 12:00 midnight as a jester to our fellow neighbors.
