Toughest Brave It Out at the Tuckasee Toilet Bowl Classic Night 1
More than 10 states were represented as the toughest of the countries Late Model drivers braved the strong winds and chilly weather to make the opening night of the Tuckasee Toilet Bowl Classic presented by Patriot Chevrolet a success.
40 plus Late Model drivers entered the pits at Clarksville Stormpay.com Speedway to enter the 3rd annual running of the event including 2006 champion Tim Tungate. When qualifying began #16R Justin “the Rattler” Rattliff was first to hit the track and turned a quick time of 13.074 seconds. That time would stand up through the rest of qualifying.
In the heats Rattliff started on the poll of heat one but was quickly over took by outside poll sitter # 53 Ray Cook. Cook will sit on the Poll for tonight’s 75 lap main event. Other heat winners included #56 David Gentry, #01 Tyler Landers and #34 Mary Lou Stephens who have all set them selves up in good position to take home the coveted Toilet Bowl Trophy and the $10,000.00 that goes along with it.
Weather is looking very favorable for today’s races as the sun will be shining for most of the events. With hot laps expected to start at 2:30 and racing shortly there after most racing will be done before the sun goes down.
Today’s racing will see Clarkesville weekly classes of Street Stock and Mini Mods kick off there 2007 regular season as well as consolation races for the Open Wheel Modifieds and the Late Models.
Final events of the day will be the crowning of the 2007 Patriot Chevrolet Tuckasee Toilet Bowl Champions with a 30 Lap Open Wheel Main and 75 Lap Late Model Championship. Gates open at 12:00 pm and racing set to take place 2:30 pm.
