Just wanted to get the word out to everyone in plenty of time.. Clay county speedway will be having a $2100 to win Modified memorial race for "BIG" Tim Lewis. He raced at CCS for a number of years. His 2 sons also race there "little Tim" drives the #4L and Billy Lewis drives the #2.. "Big Tim" drove the #21. Such a sad accident that claimed the life of a great man.. This family would help anyone in any type of need.. "Big Tim" will be missed at the track and in his community.. CCS will be having this memorial race in honor of "Big Tim" please pass the word along to fans and drivers and hope to see the stands full and the pits packed.. More info will be available hopefully this week as the promoter of the track is getting sponsors to make this event a great one.. Full payout hopefully will be a available soon.. A co-owner of Lewis Brothers Scrap Yard in Burnt Prairie died Friday evening July 18 in a tragic accident. Timothy Lewis, Sr. 59, died after being crushed while unloading a stock car from a trailer. Wayne County Coroner Jimmy Taylor said Lewis was apparently lowering the back door to the stock car trailer when he was pinned against a gate. Mr. Lewis was freed from the car trailer by Tom Barton. CPR was performed for about 15 minutes before Fairfield Rural Firefighters arrived at the scene. Mr. Lewis was taken by ambulance to Fairfield Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead in the emergency room.
