Columbus Roars Back To Life With Modified 4 Crown

Columbus, Mississippi (5/21/08) – Columbus Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi will be back in action this Saturday, May 24th with the Four Crown Modified Championship PLUS a full slate of weekly racing series action.

Last year a great field of 46 Open Wheel Modifieds signed in to do battle in the Four Crown Modified Championship at The Baddest Bullring in the South, and it was Atwood, Tennessee’s TJ Herndon, who took home the $1,000 check. This Saturday, another large field of Open Wheel Modifieds is expected to invade Columbus in the $1,000 to win/$60 to start event. There is a $20 registration fee for the Open Wheel Modifieds, and b-main non-qualifiers receive $30.

The Four Crown Modified Championship is part of a four race series that kicks off on Friday night at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, Alabama before moving to Columbus Speedway on Saturday night. Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi will see the series on Sunday night before things wrap up on Monday night at Moulton Speedway in Moulton, Alabama.

A full compliment of weekly racing series divisions will also be in action including Super Late Models, NeSmith Weekly Racing Series Crate Late Models, Late Model Stocks, and Street Stocks.

The pit gate opens at 3pm with the grandstand gate opening at 4:30pm. The driver’s meeting is slated for 6:30pm with racing action at 7:30pm. Grandstand admission is $12 for adults, $10 for children 11-18 years of age, senior citizens, and members of the military. Children 10 and under are admitted free. Pit passes are $25.
