(WHEELERSBURG, OHIO) The Memorial Day holiday weekend (May 25-27) took the Conley Motorsports, Inc. teams back to the nearby Southern Ohio Speedway in Wheelersburg, Ohio and the Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio for a trio of Dirt Late Model events. On Friday night at SOS, a $2,000 top prize was on the line in a weekly program. R.J. Conley won his heat race and later climbed up to fourth in the feature event behind only winner Jackie Boggs, Eddie Carrier, Jr., and Kenny Howell. His brother Rod Conley wound up eleventh in the final rundown, while father Delmas Conley retired early due to overheating issues and finished seventeenth in the 25-lapper.
At PRP on Saturday, a $3,000 winner's check was up for grabs in the 'Stars & Stripes 35.' R.J. stormed from the twenty-second starting spot in the 35-lap main event to grab an impressive runner-up performance behind only winner Jackie Boggs. Delmas was credited with a seventh place effort in the unsanctioned program and Rod came home in the fourteenth position.
The tripleheader weekend wrapped up at Portsmouth on Sunday with the inaugural $5,000 to win 'Gator 50.' "Hot Rod" won the B-Main to gain access into the 50-lapper and later blasted up to sixth in the feature event, while R.J. and Delmas unfortunately failed to finish the 'Gator 50.'
