Continental Tire acquires Hoosier

My personal opinion is bad. Not a fan of their tires. I normally try to sell something else first. They are over priced for the quality. Wouldn't be surprised if they don't raise prices.

It will be the end of the Hoosier brand. I have been told the new "UMP tire rule will be branded as Continental. Other than that it won't change a thing" But ya all know with UMP and Hoosier that doesn't mean much. Lol

Ok, I'll let you guys decide for yourself but after asking this question. Who thinks UMP and Hoosier have done a good job in controlling tire cost in racing? Raise your hand. Now take that hand and slap yourself!

Monopoly means higher prices!
Dont want you to think im being a smart ass but......i hear Highland is looking for a promoter for 2017 maybe you can go in there be the promoter and bring in a different sanction and different brand of tire! Its worth a shot.

who knows how this will play out BUT I would hope UMP would let the current tires be used for the 2017 season and for some applications beyond ---JMO - my opinon and a buck will get a value drink LOL

Nothing is changing.. They said it will still say Hoosier on tire

We will have to see. My sources are pretty good. Nothing in stone but it's been talked about. Word was with the grooving siping rule that lates will have the continental logo on the new tires for easy identification.

That makes sense. Also, I am pretty sure that they will want their name on the products that they purchased.

just got a TWEET from the HERMANATOR saying all is well in tire/land -- NOTHING will change -- if I knew how to use twetter I would reply - but I think KW is a very reliable source --

So they bought out Hoosier so next yr let's say at pevely you buy a set of 2 tires will the name on it be continental

Does anyone really give a flying what the name of the tire is as long as they come out with a tire that will last and the cost not go up if anything lower the cost.
