Center Line, Mich. - Only two weeks remain until the green flag drops on the Second Annual Mopar Sprint Car Nationals at The Dirt Track @ Lowe's Motor Speedway, and the anticipation level is high for both competitors and race fans.
Serving as the kickoff to the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series weekend at Lowe's Motor Speedway, the event brings the fire-breathing excitement of the USAC National Sprint Car Series to the home of stock car racing.

While this year's Mopar Sprint Car Nationals marks the second time the brand has sponsored the unique race, this will be the third time that the USAC National Sprint Car Series has taken to the red clay of the four-tenth-mile oval.
The inaugural Mopar Sprint Car Nationals was won by Levi Jones in 2004, and Jones will return to defend his title this year. Tony Stewart Racing Enterprises'
Josh Wise and Jay Drake are also slated to compete.

More than 30 entries are expected for the event, which will serve as another notch in the fierce battle for the 2005 USAC National Sprint Car Series championship. Jones currently leads the points chase, followed by Dave Darland. They are trailed closely by teammates Drake and Wise, who will also look to take home the event title for their primary sponsor, Mopar.

Hot laps are scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. EST on October 12. Heat races will follow qualifying and the non-qualifiers event at 8 p.m. EST. The spectator gates will open at 5 p.m. EST for the Second Annual Mopar Sprint Car Nationals event at The Dirt Track @ Lowe's Motor Speedway.

Tickets can be purchased for the event by calling (800) 455-FANS. For more information regarding the Mopar Sprint Car Nationals, log on to www.lowesmotorspeedway.com, www.moparspeed.com or www.mopar.com.
