Somebody said that Danny Dixon cant come back to I-55 next week. The official said he called him a f***** or something and i was standing right there the whole time and he never said anything like that. The flagman in turn 3-4 along with the officals were horrible im sure people will back me up on this when a slow car was running up high in 3-4 and the leader was coming in to turn 3 way faster than the slow car the flagman waved the slow car down the track the leader 3L had to get on the breaks really hard and still slamed into him and got pinched into the wall. They did give him his spot back though so they could cover there a** for making a dumb mistake like that.

dont know too much about that
dennis did ok tonite except for a couple occassions
one of them was the late model feature start
im cool with matt taylor winning at I-55, but it sure looked like he jumped the start of the feature. am i the only one that saw this?

another was when whaley had his car propped up on the wall
kinda thought a yellow was in order for that one

who knows.....

From what I heard over the radio, it seems that Dixon's crew was repairing bodywork on Dixon's car during the yellow while he was up close to the pit wall.

danny dixon

Here is the deal no they wern't repairing ed's car ed never came to the wall he got kicked out cause he sup crossed the line by the big white tire and dennis seen him but that is no grounds to be kicked out and gives dennis kliene no reason to come and cuss people out i was standing there the hole time and think that it was low of the offical to do that pevely is the best track in the midwest but man they dure didnt act like it tonight.

P.S. DANNY DID NOTHING WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

If they would of been repairing Dixon car he would of had to go to the back. You can not touch a car under yellow. I don't think that they would of missed someone working on his car. There were three or four officials in turn four.

I am a I-55 fan but, I also would have to say not one of there better nights of officiating. The Whaley heat was a close call. The sportsman had a pile up that needed an early yellow the 28 spun and two cars were hung together. Pro 4 had a front bumper on the track and they were not sure if they needed a yellow until the last minute. The turn 4 flag man waved the Late Model down the track in front of the leaders and ended up collecting the leader. Did the turn 4 flag man do that on his own or was he instructed to do that by the front straight flagman either way bone head move. Next week don't throw a fit when you wave someone else down and they have a hard time having faith in your decison. I don't believe Allied or I-55 are the ones that have to pay for the repairs for those racers cars. Could of cost someone over $1000 winnings and more in repairs.

Last but not least I also was standing in turn four and heard Danny Dixon make no such comment. ( Not saying he didn't)

IF YOU WANT RESPECT FROM DRIVERS AND CREW MEMBERS THEN MAYBE YOU SHOULD SHOW RESPECT TOWARDS THEM. I WAS RAISED TREAT PEOPLE AS YOU WANT TO BE TREATED. MR. KLEIN IF YOU YELL AND USE PROFANITY TOWARDS PEOPLE HOW DO YOU WANT THEM TO RESPOND TOWARDS YOU.

Question for Marlar and Schrader would you let someone talk to you that way. Would Kenny go back to a track that someone treated him that way. Probably not. Then why do you continue to let someonet talk that way to your customers that faithfully support your track?? You have a good thing going don't let it get out of control.

Why did Shcrader leave in the middle of the feature? was his car broke or did the official tell him to leave after a crew member was working on his car to I was standing there watching the crew member pull the nose out. The official said something to him and Schrader was telling the crew member to get away from the car then he drove out . Just wondering

U*.M.P. should reguire transponders each driver gets there own transponder I.D. # or crystal ( for about $100 )track installs the loop and theres no more # 14 lm put in front of drivers that passed him 3 or 4 laps ago .
O'h and for all you who are about to say " what about the people that don't compete in U.M.P. on a regular basis " the systems usually comes w/ hand out transponders. That may solve some of that he's been racing here for 20 years so he gets that spot b.s. !

What's the deal with drivers having to move to the bottom when the leader is coming. When you get that blue flag waived at you all you need to do is hold your line. I don't race at I-55 but once a year but I know a few that do and this is the second week in a row that I've heard of a flagman telling someone to move to the bottom for the leaders. They got to pass you just like everyone else. You just need to hold your line so they can do it. You can't see the leader behind you but he can see you. That's why you hold your line. Sounds to me you might be able to chalk that one up to the flagman if I'm reading this right.

I 'm retireds' wife and have been going to races for more years than I wish to recall, but I haven't seen a worse flag man in a long, long time. The little boys were doing a better job than he was. Also, I thought that safety was a major priority at any race track, but what is it when the announcer tells people to stay away from the fence, but these little boys waving their flags don't have to comply? They are right up at the fence during the whole race; I really hope and pray that none of those boys get hurt.

there were people not just kids onthe other side other of the flag man all night long also, with all the track na#$s around that should have been taken cared for

Some of these things I agree with but some I dont. I agree that it was a bad call to motion the 42 car down the track in front of the leader but it worked out ok. As far as the bumper I was on the back stretch and saw it come off, it looked to me like they put the caution out quickly enough. I think they do a good job of locating debris on the track. I just dont see how you can judge whether a caution comes out quick enough for debris. It easy to see if your a fan and it lands on the track in front of where your sitting but the officials are looking all over the track while the racing going on.

The officials were definitely having a bad night! Did anyone see the "other" Mr. Klein, keeper of the back gate---throw a hissy fight and throw his yellow flag at the 3 ladies on the golf cart? I think they were helping with the Nickel Race---I was standing down in the Pit Grandstand during the Late Model Feature, there was a yellow and he opened the gate. Mr. Klein then proceeded to what looked like to me, to wave the golf cart into the infield. The golf cart starting in, then all of a sudden, it turned UGLY! He started yelling at her to stop and threw his yellow flag down but in the direction of the golf cart, he went and grabbed the golf cart and started pushing it to one side! Yelling and cussing the whole time! This was very much uncalled for--from where I was standing (at the fence in the Pit Stands), it looked like you waved her in, and then she was trying to get out of the way of the Tow Truck and you caused more of a delay by throwing your fit! Just another fine example of how the 2 Mr. Kleins treat people!

Here is my 2 cents worth. I believe, but I'm not sure, the Kleins are related to Tony Stowert somehow. The Klein on the back stretch has always had a bad temper. But, if you don't have track officials like you do at I-55, you have races like Highland, Godfrey, and Mt. Vernon where you have Officials that are more worried about keeping their cigarette lit and turning around making sure their beer buddies are in the stands watching him screw up not paying attention the the race. Also when you have crewman that think they are the sh-- and don't have to follow any rules, somebody has to set them straight. Nobody listens anymore to rules or instructions, for instance the nickel race. How many times did Mike say "do not pick up the nickels or walk across the nickels while you are walking to the line, stay along the wall." What did they do? And these were the older kids. It was a nice thing to do for them but it just gets out of hand just like some crewman. I love this track and I will keep coming back because the officials keep things rolling and the racing is good. And are they going to put up another light stand for the front stretch. That was nice on the back stretch. I looked like I was at Bristol for a night race.

Racewatcher, I'm with you on this post. I seen the whole thing too. I just feel sorry for the poor ladies on the cart. I dont know if i'd come back to the track after being mis-treated that way. As for the LM feature, I sit on the back straight away and seen the 32 car off the pace big time in turn 2. Not sure what happened in turn 4 but i would have thought the caution would have been trown the minute any driver was in danger. I believe EVERY fan around me would agree that it was a very bad call on the flagman there!!
Just my opinion.

Wheel 21 the Late Model driver appeared to be broke or had a flat and pulled up high to get out of everyones way. Then the turn 4 flag man waved him down in front of the leaders. Which he trusted they new what they were doing.

Leigh I also think they do a good job flagging but a few years ago they started going through the same thing that seems to be happening now. As long as they get the extra lap in its ok. How would of Schrader felt last night if he would of killed a car after the race was over because he didn't know there was a car PARKED in turn 1.

The bumper came off, the turn 4 flag man seen it immediately, apparently cued the radio to Front stretch as he looked that way, then they wave the yellow as they approached the debris. No matter Late Model or Pro4 driver they can use every second they can get before entering an area of caution.

How would a insurance company feel about some of the racers been left on a track so you can get that extra lap run? Higher insurance means higher admission prices for drivers and fans. The race track still has to make money so whos going to pay these increases.

How would the Kleins react if that was there mom or wife and someone through a hissy fit like that towards them. I don't think it would go over very good they are a close nit family. Thats good but why can't they show the respect back to people. Don Klein has been an amazing driver through his years and showed great respect for his competitors and the fans. It's time that his children take a little after dad.

This is there job. They get payed to do it. If they don't like it or can't do it right with out disrespecting the people around them then maybe it's time to do something else. How many of us can go to work and talk that way to a customer no matter how bad that customer screws up? We know it's not an easy job.

Also I have seen Gary Klein (I believe thats his name) come on to the track to assist Billy Klein in working on there dads car many times in the last few years. Such as pull sheet metal away. How come he didn't get a week off ?

Who is #32 do you mean 42? As far as working on the car on the track, you cant work on the car while its on the track under yellow. Well looked to me like they enforced that rule because they didnt let the 8 crew, 50 crew,or Schraders crew to work on there car. If they would of let Schraders team work on the car and not let the other teams, everybody there would cry favoritism. Like I said earlier they enforced the rule.

All officials at all tracks are going to blow calls from time to time, that's part of racing. The officials at I-55, in my opinion, are the most consistant week in and week out of any track in our area. So what if they screwed up a few calls last night, believe me, they'll make up for it next week.
