Davenport Speedway Up Next For the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series This Tuesday

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series gets right back into racing mode quickly this coming week as the series heads for the first time to the Davenport Speedway in Davenport, IA for a special Tuesday Night race on June 21. The "Quad City Challenge" is sponsored by WHBF-TV 4 and will feature a complete show for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series with Oval Craft Racing Aluminum Designs Time Trials, VP Fuels Makin' Power Heat Races, Mason Racin' Rebel Shock Dyno and PPM Racing Products B-Mains and the 40 lap main event paying $7,000 to win. The rain date for this event will be on Wednesday, June 22.

The Lucas Oil Late Model Series is coming off of a successful "Masters" weekend at the Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, WI where Don O'Neal and Donnie Moran took the wins. After 13 events O'Neal leads the series points heading into Davenport with Terry English in second followed by Matt Miller, Moran and Earl Pearson, Jr. The rest of the top ten include Scott James, Tim Dohm, Shannon Babb, Jimmy Mars and Brady Smith. There have been nine different winners so far this year on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and it has been nine races now since the winner has not started in the front row. O'Neal leads the series victory list with four wins and Terry English is the only other driver with more than one win as he has two victories. Other winners on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series this year include: Tim McCreadie, Steve Shaver, Steve Francis, Jackie Boggs, Scott James, Jimmy Mars and Donnie Moran.

Gates will open at 4 pm at Davenport this coming Tuesday Night with hot laps and time trials to follow at 6:30 pm. Davenport Speedway is located at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds in Davenport.
