BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 7) – Scott Davis is hoping his career 13th main event appearance leads to a sec¬ond IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals championship.
Danny Dvorak and Chad Krug also hope Tuesday success on the track at Boone Speedway leads to even bigger and better things come Saturday night.

After replacing an engine that expired in Monday night’s qualifier at Boone Speedway, Davis took charge at midway and led to the finish of his Tuesday evening Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature.

He’ll start on the front of the middle row of the main event on Saturday.

Eric Flander led the early going Tuesday night. The only caution came on lap eight and Davis eked ahead as the front pair came to the stripe halfway through the 20 lapper.

Flander kept up the chase, but couldn’t keep a back runner between his car and Davis’ and had to set¬tle for a distant second.

The rest of the top 10 advancing to the middle row of Saturday’s big dance include R.J. Merchant, Matt Oreskovich, Eric Elliott, Brett Moffitt, defending champion Mike Pruitt, Cody Hudson, Matt Hoeft and Geoff Olson.

The 1998 Stock Car king, Davis owns six career main event starts in both that class and the Northern SportMods, and another in the Modifieds.

Dvorak led the distance of the second SportMod qualifier, which ran green the last nine circuits. Tad Reutzel kept up the pursuit from start to finish.

Lining up behind Dvorak, now a four time qualifier for the SportMod show, and Reutzel on the out¬side row Saturday will be Randy Roberts, Steve Reetz, Brandon Leeman, Blake Peeler, Lynn Brock¬ett, Jim Gillenwater, Adam Ackerman and Kyle Bentley.
