I heard there is going to be two big Mod races this weekend with CCS paying more to start! I see JCR is for a better cause.

I want to know what drivers are going where so I know where the better show would be. I went to JCR this weekend just because they had sprints, But if I went for a regular show I would have to go to flora 1. it is cheap to watch races and there is alway a full field of cars there except C.A.R.S. But i see why that is what Im saying is i do not want to go to JCR pay 12 bucks to get in and only see 10 latemodels, 12 mods, 5 street stock and a nest of hornets 3. see mostly a freight train race or a demo derby. When I can go to CCS and pay 9 bucks to get in EVEN ON SPECIAL SHOW ONLY PAY $9 to get in the stands. And I can see a heck lot more cars. Average 24-28 mods 8 or 9 crates, 24 street stock and almost 30 Hornets 3. Nice racey track not dry slick by the first lap.

JEFFERSON COUNTY RACEWAY
ADMISSION: OUTRAGES $12
CAR COUNT: Skippy (13 cars or less)
TRACK: smooth, Dusty, 1 lane bottom
Dry slick after 1 lap

PROMOTIONS: Goodin the paper on the radio gives out free tickets


CLAY COUNTY SPEEDWAY
Admission: CHEEP $9
CAR COUNT: (FULL FIELDS 20 cars or more) except CARS splitting of both tracks
Track: (FULL FIELDS 20 cars or more) except CARS splitting of both tracks
smooth fast tacky-dry 3-4 lane from Outside walls to inside tires
dry slick, tacky, rubbery
Track different every week
PROMOTIONS: POOR but getting Better, need to be on the radio​

well lets see,
I agree, Clay County has the better track. and it also has more mods running.
but it also starts an hour later than most (7pm) and finishes later.
it has someone screaming in the microphone all nite,
and a pvc pipe for the mens restroom which is outside behind a fence that spills out on the ground as your coming into it. but to give CCS a rating overall, I would give it a "B"

as for Jefferson County. yes the track is dry slick. their restrooms arent the best but better than CCS. JCS has late models which CCS does not. usally some really good racing. they do have small car counts which im sure both tracks are always working on. JCS has a lot more giveaways during their 50/50's, The debate can go on and on, everyone chooses their best track to go to, and all have their goods and bads. Both these tracks have great potential if the energy is directed in the right way.
oh as for rating JCS, I would give it a "B-"
I didnt count CARS in with the late models, both are equall on that field.

I think you better go back and check the records on the car counts. They have been alot better than you are trying to get everyone to believe at Jefferson County. It has also been some very good racing!
 
The car count r "averages" The price to see a 1 lane grove is OUTRAGES OUTRAGES!!!!!!!!!

If they would lower ther price the would see more people in the stand at JCR!!!!!
 
In my first post i was trying to be non-bias, and give both tracks a fair shake. But it seems that isnt what this debate wants to be. I use to go to both tracks until the shift of days. both are equal distance for me. (salem).
but even though I did give CCS a higher grade, I would have to choose JCS as the track I would rather go to just because I like watching Late Models, CARS, Mods, and Sprints. I dont like someone screaming into a mic all night long (that to me is worth the $3 difference). and JCS offers more to the fans during their 50/50's and they get the Hooter Girls. also JCS starts at 6pm. so I get out of their earlier. I dont stay to watch all the races.

This is crazy. I dont know why pepole have to keep stirring the pot as far as jefferson county being one lane if a guy has a good enough car u can go to the top and still pass. We had a car that was busted up from a idiot running us over leading the feature, we went to the back and passed every car on the top to finish 4th with 6 laps to go I'm sure I will catch crap about this but its true every one needs to quit complaining and go watch and race where ever they want and leave the track promoters alone they are duing the best they can do. I like Flora and Mt vernon both so no favortisim here

HELL YES!!! this guy hit the nail on the head. just shut up and race/ watch the races where you want.
