You wanna make things more interesting? I don't think I've ever seen restarts like this around the St. Louis area or anyone suggest them, but they used to do this at a pavement track in Kentucky. Under caution they put a cone in the middle of the front stretch. The leader gets the front row to himself, and the rest of the field choose to either go to the left of the cone or the right of the cone and that determines which side they restart on. So if the groove is on the bottom and 2nd-5th chooses the left side, 6th place can start outside the 2nd row.
Here is an idea- Stop the cars on the backstretch about halfway and get the line-up correct instead of letting them make non-stop parade laps while the scorers get line-ups...An added bonus is they only have a half lap to restart and less chance to jump and cause another annoying caution!!! It shouldn't take forever to get a race restarted!!!...BORING![/quote
