(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Carpentersville, Illinois native Dennis Erb racked up his fifth victory of the 2010 racing season last Saturday night, August 14 at the Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois! After timing in sixth quickest overall in UMP DIRTcar Series qualifying, Dennis ran second in heat race action to land the sixth starting spot in the A-Main. Dennis disposed of the five competitors ahead of him during the feature event to record the $2,000 top prize over Jason Feger, Joe Harlan, Scott Bull, and Ryan Unzicker.

Earlier in the weekend, the #28 team was in action at the Kankakee County Speedway in Kankakee, Illinois on Friday evening, August 13. The 'Triple Crown Clash' was scheduled to take place on Friday and a $9,000 winner's check was on the line. Dennis qualified fifth fastest in his group and later finished third in his heat race to earn a coveted starting spot in the A-Main. However, heavy rains following the heat races postponed the remainder of the program to October 1. Complete results from Dennis' win at Fairbury can be located online at www.fairburyspeedway.com.

“It feels good to get back into victory lane and get our fifth win of the season,” quoted Erb this week via telephone. “Fairbury was pretty fast and rough last Saturday, but I tried to stay low and miss the majority of the holes out there. The car worked really well and I was able to hold on and get the victory. Hopefully, we can get on a roll heading into the back part of our schedule and we will see what happens this weekend at Batesville!”

Next up for the Dennis Erb Racing team will be a trip to the Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove, Arkansas on August 20-21 for the 18th Annual ‘Topless 100.’ The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will sanction the biggest topless Dirt Late Model race in the country this weekend at Batesville, as a $40,000 top prize awaits the winner. Qualifying and heat race action will take place this Friday night, while the consolation races and 100-lap ‘Topless 100’ will headline the program on Saturday evening.

The cameras of the SPEED Channel will be on hand at Mooney Starr’s facility to tape all of the wheel-to-wheel action for broadcast later in the year. Dennis will be making his first visit back to Batesville since he ran with the Hav-A-Tampa Series back in 1999. Additional information on this year’s ‘Topless 100’ can be accessed at www.batesvillemotorspeedway.net.
