Dirt Track racing 1 & DTR -Sprint Cars

I got a new Dell (XPS 410 with XP, with nvidia gforce). I'm having trouble getting these games to work- the games loaded on to the PC fine, but when it gets done with the games intro screens and goes to main menu screen- all I get is blank white boxes where it should say
Game, Multiplayer, options, High scores etc

you can't type anything in these white boxes, if I did'nt know where to click to go back, i'd be stuck. Sprint car game does the same thing.

I have another PC (compaq w/ XP and it works fine on it), Dell just told me games weren't compatible w/ xp.....It belongs to my cousin .......hope he doesn't want it back any time soon.....it doesn't have nvidia.....could that cause it not to work?? Any help would be appreciated.

I've got a 3 1/2 year old Dell laptop with XP and it runs both DTR games with no problems. I don't have them with me right now to see what settings I used but I know that it will run on XP.

It depends on the computer
My computer doesn't show some of the display right while your racing. it doesn't show how many laps there are (just a white box). the flags don't wave the just apear and disappear. dtr 2 does the same thing on mine. sprint cars doesn't work at all. on our hp it works fine. my computer is a built computer.

John,

Not sure what exactly is your problem with your games, but if it was the same as mine:

1. click on properties of particular game
2. click on compatibility, check box that says run this program in compatilibility for Change that to a different windows OS ie 95, 98....
3 try running the game with the box that says software (Graphics driver).......after I did this my games worked.

Then if it works go into the individual game options settings for video graphics, audio, game input and set those to desired settings.

Hope this helps, Scott Caldwell
