Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (November 19, 2007) – The world's premier dirt track racing event is just around the corner, with the 22nd Annual Dodge Chili Bowl Nationals set to unfold inside the Tulsa Expo Center on January 8-12, 2008.

And companies or individuals interested in sponsoring one or more laps in the Saturday night, January 12, 50-lap Dodge Chili Bowl Nationals feature event atop the ¼-mile clay oval still have the opportunity to do so at just $100 per lap.

Half of the lap money, $50, goes to the leader of each lap, with $30 going to the second-running driver on that lap and the remaining $20 going to the driver in third. Lap sponsors will be listed, with a link to their website, on the event's official website (www.chilibowl.com) and will also be displayed on the big screen monitors throughout the Tulsa Expo Center during the Dodge Chili Bowl Nationals.

Those interested in sponsoring a lap at the 22nd Annual Dodge Chili Bowl Nationals may do so by contacting the Chili Bowl office at 918-838-3777.

NASCAR sensation Tony Stewart enters the 2008 edition of the Dodge Chili Bowl Nationals as the reigning champion after besting a record field of 267 competitors to snare his second Golden Driller trophy on January 13, 2007. Stewart, perhaps better known as "Smoke Johnson" in Chili Bowl lore, scored his first Chili Bowl win in 2002.

With the victory, Stewart became just the fourth multi-time winner in the illustrious history of the Dodge Chili Bowl Midget Nationals. Other multiple winners include four-time Chili Bowl king Sammy Swindell (1989, 1992, 1996 and 1998), Dan Boorse (1999 and 2003) and Cory Kruseman (2000 and 2004).

Other past winners of the prestigious, indoor Midget racing event include Late Model ace Tim McCreadie (2006), Tracy Hines (2005), Jay Drake (2001), Billy Boat (1997), Donnie Beechler (1995), Andy Hillenburg (1994), Dave Blaney (1993), Lealand McSpadden (1991), Jon Heydenreich (1990), Scott Hatton (1988) and Rich Vogler (1987).

Another stellar field of entries from throughout the nation and beyond, including top contenders from NASCAR, NHRA, Sprint Cars, Midgets, Late Models, Modifieds and more, will converge upon Tulsa, OK, in January to battle through five full nights of action.

The Tuesday night, January 8, Pre-Qualifying event will be followed by three full qualifying nights of action, including Wednesday's Creek Nation Casino Qualifying Showdown, Thursday's Warren Cat Qualifying Event and Friday's O'Reilly Qualifying Night. Saturday's Bass Pro Shops Championship feature slate of events will culminate with the 22nd Annual Dodge Chili Bowl Nationals 50-lap championship feature event.

A limited number of reserved seats remain for Tuesday night's Pre-Qualifying event, with only pit passes available on Wednesday through Saturday.

Tickets for the Tuesday night, January 8, Pre-Qualifier may be purchased in advance for just $21 by calling the Chili Bowl ticket office at 918-838-3777.
