Doe Run Speedway Results 9/19/03

DOE RUN, MO--(Sept. 19, 2003) Dustin Barks finished out the final night of points for the 2003 season with a triple crown this past Friday night at the Doe Run Raceway.

Barks led all 20 laps of the 600cc Multi A-Main to put the finishing touches on his perfect evening. Derek O'Dell returned to the raceway after an absence of several weeks and finished second to Barks in the A-Main. 2003 600cc Multi class track champion Casey Barnhouse, Junior Ferguson and Jeremy Boyer were the remaining top five finishers. Jimmy Bridgeman picked up a second place finish behind Barks in the first heat, Boyer finished third. Ferguson carried the checkered flag in the second heat followed by O'Dell and Barnhouse. O'Dell finished second to Barks in the six fastest dash, Ferguson third.

Vince Conway earned another A-Main victory in the Dwarf car class. John Leahy Jr. finished second, 2003 Dwarf Car class track champion Glenn Province third, Sam Layton fourth and Dom Wadlow fifth. Leahy Jr. won the first heat, Conway second and Dom Wadlow third. Province picked up a win in the second heat, Todd Williams second and Layton third.

Eric Bellew earned another victory in the Mini Stock feature event. Ron Moser finished second, Mike LaBrot third, Randy Horton Jr. fourth and Kenny Burch Jr. fifth. Moser won the first heat, 2003 Mini Stock class track champion Carl Bellew Jr. second and LaBrot third. Eric Bellew won the second heat followed by Chuck White and Phil Norris.

2003 Super Stock Kart track champion Michael Harp finished out his season with wins in both his heat race and the feature event, capping off what has been a spectacular season. Harp was followed in the feature by Kyle Jarrett and Wayne Arnold. Dalton Radford finished second in the heat race, Arnold third.

2003 Stock Kart track champion Braydon Wright ended his season with a feature win as well. Wayne Arnold, Landon Barks, Brad Paquet and Jesse Wright round out the top five. Jesse Wright won the first heat followed by Kyle Long and Michael Hutchison. Arnold crossed the line first in the second heat, Paquet second and Braydon Wright third.

The ladies took to the race track in the annual Powder Puff event in the Kart, Dwarf and Mini Stock classes. In the Mini Stock class Tonya Harp took home the trophy with Melissa Whitehead finishing second and Diane Norris third. In the Dwarf car class, Michelle Wadlow was the winner followed by Tracy Rentfro and Kristie Hutchison. Kristie Wright won the Kart class powder puff followed by Jessica Norris and Kim Leahy.

Doe Run Raceway will close out the 2003 racing season with a special event Friday September 26th. The Fall Finale will feature the 600cc Multi class in a wingless show with $750 going to the winner. The raceway will also hold their annual "mechanics" races in the Mini Stock and Dwarf car classes.
