Matt Dotson put the #23 dwarf car in victory lane for the second time this season this past Friday night at the Raceway. Dotson, who also drives a 600cc multi at the facility led all 15 laps of the special $350 to win show. Danny Haynes finished second in the event, Vince Conway third, Mike Zaricor fourth and Brad Paquet fifth.
Dotson won the first heat, Chris Hayes second and Jim Daley third. Dave Huffman won the second heat, Haynes second and Vince Conway third.
Marty Boyer, Bill Nickelson and Shannon Burch put the fans on the edge of their seats during the Mini Stock feature event. Burch jumped out in front at the green and led the race until encountering slower traffic and losing the lead to Nickelson. Meanwhile, Boyer, who started the event from the 13th spot after having mechanical problems in his heat race was steadily working his way to the front to challenge Burch and Nickelson. At the line it was Boyer, Nickelson and Burch 3 wide with Boyer across first by mere inches. Keith Buckley finished a strong fourth and Brian Cox fifth. CJ Wright won the first heat, Nickelson second and Buckley third. Burch won the second heat followed by Ronnie Moser in second and Cox in third.
In the 600cc Multi class, Casey Barnhouse won the main event followed by Eric Edwards, Jimmy Bridgeman, Jason Cooper and Mark Shirshekan. Barnhouse also won the first heat, Roney second and Jeff Wurst third. Cooper won the second heat, Bridgeman second and Edwards third.
Scottie Gretzmacher is quickly becoming the man to beat in the Stock Kart class. Gretzmacher won both his heat race and the feature event this past weekend. Jesse Wright crossed the line behind Gretzmacher in the feature with Braydon Wright in the third spot, Maggie Almon fourth and Mackenzie Roney fifth. Braydon Wright followed Gretzmacher in the first heat with Amber Bayless finishing third. Rookie driver Garrett Burns carried the checkered in the second heat, Maggie Almon second and Travis Almon in third.
There will be no racing at the facility on Friday, June 16th. Racing will resume Friday June 23rd with all classes participating.
