Inside Line Promotions - CAMERON, Mo. (Aug. 28, 2013) - For the first time in a while, Jack Dover pulled the top number during the feature redraw. But it didn't come without a funny moment.

"A kid drew it and I asked what number she wanted to draw and she said a six," Dover said with a laugh. "I said, 'No, we need to draw a one.' And she did."

Dover capitalized on the starting position to lead all 25 laps from the pole on Friday at U.S. 36 Raceway to notch his 10th feature victory of the season at the ASCS Warrior Region event.

"We had two yellows with about 10 laps to go," he said. "I was having a throttle problem and I was worried I wasn't going to win, but it worked out. The car was really good. I never went up top once. I just rolled the bottom the whole race. If I had to I could have gone up top. The car was that good."

It capped a night when Dover was dominant. He charged from sixth to pick up his 13th heat race win of the season.

"The car was really, really good," he said. "The track was racy. It had a top groove, bottom groove.

"We were lucky enough to get up to second out of turn two on the first lap. I had a battle with the leader and halfway through a yellow came out. It took me two laps after the yellow to get the lead. I was running the bottom just enough where he'd see my nose. He went down and started running where I was running. I was trying to get him to move down and I was able to get around him on the top side."

Dover earned an additional $200 for the heat win, which gave him enough points to advance to the feature redraw.

It marked the fifth time this season that Dover has claimed back-to-back feature victories.

"Once you get one it just builds your confidence that much more," he said. "I'm wanting to win really bad this weekend."

Dover is scheduled to compete with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour on Friday and Saturday at Jackson Speedway in Jackson, Minn. He will wrap up his weekend on Sunday at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb.
