DuQuion

Nick Lyons did set a new track record at just over 113 mph average lap. Shane Cockrum was very fast in the closing laps. He did get caught up behind a lap car with about 3 or 4 laps to go and lost a lot of ground to Hall. But he was right back on Hall in the closing laps. There were 14 crates there.

1. Todd Hall
2. Shane Cockrum
3. Bobby Melvin
4. Scott Britton
5. Ray Emling
6. Chris Fetter

The ARCA Truck race was spectacular. Two, three and four trucks battled for the lead the entire 50 laps! The ARCA Trucks also set a new qualifying record at just over 99mph. The ARCA Trucks are smaller type trucks with V-6 engines. They are on 13" tires and have the option of running an 8" or 10" wide tire. The winner won on 8" wide tires.

give a call to Chris Fetter for a 6th place finish. He stepped into his son's crate which was unproven until today. Not bad for 1st time on a track.

Glad the race was only 20 laps. With 2 to go we developed a bad vibration, thought we were loosing a right rear. Found the vibration. The threads stripped out of the upper hole on the LR birdcage and the bar came off. Luckily we were able to finish and keep our 6th place finish. Thanks parttime18. Nothing like making a cars virgin run on the mile.

So do they run the same chassis on dirt that they do on pavement? For that matter do the arca cars run 2 different chassis? And how much cheaper are the trucks with a V6?

The ARCA cars & trucks use the same cars on dirt as pavement.

The mile tracks are not dirt racing like you are used to. The tracks are about as hard as asphalt and they are very flat. If you are getting sideways on the mile tracks, it is about like getting sideways on a paved track. And you are probably in trouble.

The dirt at Springfield is way different than Duquoin. If you get in the marbles at Sprinfield you better pucker, Duquoin is a lot more forgiving.
