Sorry to say it, but I don't really Randy's chances in this heat. Earl couldn't have put him in a harder heat. Good luck anyway though, and make it into the A-main.
 
Don't blame Earl for the lineup. It is the qualifing that puts the drivers where they are. In Korte's heat are Eckert, Bloomquist, Birkhofer, Van Wormer, Francis, Hartman, Weaver, Arp, Drake and Curry. That will be a good feature at any race track and that is not all the cars in heat 1.
Allgaier is in heat five in 15th starting spot.
 
Dixion won the feature at Godfrey last night and will be
trying to take the season chamionship at Pevely tonight.

Good-Luck Randy with the good starting position you've
been waiting for for the last few years. Hope you make
the A-main.

Race Notes...
Heat #1 * Steve Francis tagged the wall on lap two, but kept his race car running.
* Tim Senic, Tony Izzo Jr, Kevin Weaver, and Skip Arp all retired to the pit area with problems on their race machines.
* Steve Francis went up in smoke midway through the race and retired to the pit area.
* Steve Hillard and Billy Drake got together on the fronstretch when Hillard's machine suddenly slowed out of turn four.
* Jeep VanWormer shredded a right rear tire on the white flag lap while running mid-pack.
Heat #2 * Patrick Dugan and Brad Erwin crashed extremely hard in turn four on the opening lap of heat two. Both drivers are ok, but their cars are heavily damaged.
* Barry Doss, Dick Phillips, and Reece O'Conner all pulled their machines to the pit area with problems on their cars. Caution on the track.
* Jimmy Owens dropped from the race while running 2nd.
Heat #3 * Caution for Dustin Neat who spun out on the backstretch on the opening lap. Neat took his car to the pit area.
Heat #4 * Chub Frank dominated heat four from start to finish.
Heat #5 * Bob Pierce suffered a flat right front tire on his 32b car.
* Greg Johnson coasted to the pit area while his car smoked heavily.
Heat #6 * Jerry Bowersock and Kevin Claycomb failed to make the call for heat race six.
