I will never say this was the wrong call for a track owner/promotor to make BUT some of you applauding this decision know very well you have a car not ready to race Friday because of a motor problem or any other reason. You know who you are...........

Well I don't know who you are but, our car can be ready in less than two hours. That is NOT the
point. The driver, our driver, has a family with three children and a wife. This heat is some of the
worst I've seen in my entire life, just the length of it, and it is just not worth the risk of being
overheated. Maybe I'm getting old, but in my opinion, it's the only option. Have you ever been overheated? If you have, you should understand. It's not a good thing and takes months to recover.
It is very hard to keep an engine cool at 90 degrees, much less nearly a hundred. I was a fire
fighter for a good long time and I can tell you from personal experience that this heat is nothing to mess with. I am disappointed that there is no racing friday night too. BUT!

I'm confused? I make a point about train racing at Highland and people are wanting to burn me at the stake, but the same comments are made about TCS and it's all quiet......WTF!!!!!!!! I just try to be a voice of reason in a sea of ignorance and I get FLAMED. Whatever.........:)

If the vintage cars run I will be there with family but if this heat continues please cancel. Belle- Clair is my favorite track and we will return.

I am as bummed out as the next guy that BC is having to cancel once again. But I do understand the reasoning. The heat index is at dangerous levels and the older folks, and BC has a lot of older fans can't take the heat. Not to mention many people with little ones can't drag them out in it either. Don and the crew are doing their level best to restore BC back to some of its prior glory that the last promoter spent many years driving into the ground. I for one think they are doing a good job, and think they will succeed given time. It didn't go down over night and won't be brought back over night. With that said, Don cannot at this juncture afford the bad night that some other tracks may be able to afford to eat. They are barely half way through their first season as promoters. Be patient with them and I think it will pay off. I for one am glad that Don and his people care as much about BC's success as I do. Hopefully next week they can resume the rest of the season and everything goes great!!!!

Excellent post and agreed!

not saying its right or wrong but racing is a summer sport not everyone reads these forums and if i showed up and there was no race i would be angry just something to think about glad im not a promoter

bestway1990 re-read the my first point in my post. If you would have understood that point there would not be the need for your post. If you only have a few hours to get a car ready obviosly I was not refering to you. No hard feelings .. and on a side note,on a race car keeping a engine cool on a 90 degree day should not be a problem.

The damn heat

If your swimming pool water is to hot , than i think it is too hot to race.

Dc i know you are not happy but i know the right call was made.

The only races you may have seen was to the hospital.

Wow!!!! What a crazy summer, good luck to the promoters i know it is a tough call.

I know amber is not happy so i think i will put a number on her camaro. And let

run circles on our new property with her ac on .

I don't know you but if you're referring to me not having my car ready to race because of the motor then you are right. But I also am only able to race every couple months anyways because I don't live in the area anymore. So I wouldnt be racing again until the fall nationals anyways.

Don, there's a 3 week gap in the schedule from 9/9 until Oct. Any chance of moving these cancellations into those slots since the weather will be better? Really didn't get to run on Friday nights nearly as much as we wanted this season.

Good Idea, Hope they consider it.

I'm in the commercial liability profession so I'm not just voicing an opinion when I say this is the correct call. If something were to happen due to the extreme heat, the track could/would most likely be found negligent in the event of a lawsuit (regardless of how right or wrong it is). I applaud the cautious approach to insure the future success of the track for the weeks and years to come. I also agree BC has been wonderful this year, thank you Don for your effort and time.

I don't know Don Hoener, but 95% of what I read about Don and his crew on here is very positive. Great job this year Don and a great call about cancelling Friday's race because of the heat. Sounds like Don "get's it" and understands what it takes to run a successful track. Things will continue to get even better.

Don and Joe are both doing a very good job this year. I, for one, vote for adding these dates to the end of the year.

My daughter plays softball last double header was Monday. One of the Umpires and I were talking about how hot it was and I was told if the heat index got to 115 games have to be cancelled due to health concerns for the kids. Hate to hear this but at some point it has to be a major health concern for all involved :(
