Farley hosts March 31 opener for Deery Brothers Summer Series

FARLEY, Iowa (March 26) – Farley Speedway rolls out the red carpet this Saturday, March 31 for one of the earliest opening night events in Deery Brothers Summer Series history.
The 26th annual tour for IMCA Late Models gets off to a fast start with a $2,000 to win, minimum $250 to start feature.
Pit gates open at 3:30 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 4 p.m. Hot laps are at 6 p.m. with racing to follow.
Grandstand admission is $16 for adults, $13 for seniors and $10 for students, with kids 12 and under free. Pit passes are $25.
The home of the Yankee Dirt Track Classic, Farley has hosted six previous Deery events and has yet to see a repeat winner.
Mike Murphy Jr. of Colona, Ill., and Decorah’s Tyler Bruening both raced to tour career first victories at Farley last season.
Jason Friesen of Sutton, Neb., won there in 2001, Ray Guss Jr. of Milan, Ill., in 2002, Jeff Aikey of Cedar Falls in 2003 and Andy Eckrich of Iowa City in 2010.
Guss is the two-time defending Deery Series champion. Aikey leads all drivers with 55 career wins on the circuit along with six tour championships.
Twenty-one dates are on the 2012 schedule. From Farley, Deery drivers travel to 34 Raceway at West Burlington for the $3,000 to win Slocum 50 on Saturday, April 7. They’ll race for a top prize of $2,000 when the series makes its first visit since 2006 to Hamilton County Speedway on Saturday, April 14.
The Webster City track hosted the earliest opening night event in series history, on March 30, 2002.
